(((HUGS))) I understand, Linder. I cannot imagine the pain you've been through this year. I lost both my folks with 7 weeks of each other in 2007, but everyone expects to lose their parents at some point. You are a strong and capable woman to be hanging on. However long it takes, as long as ICHC is still here, I'll still be here, waiting to welcome you back. :) ++ I like the Return of the Painted Kitteh! The psychedelic one took some getting used to, but it's OK too if you decide to switch it. It was nice to see your son's pic, but I totally understand not wanting to leave it up permanently. ++ Don't worry about being behind! I'd actually gotten my 999 pages of faves down to about 950, but then had stuff to do for some time and kept adding new ones without continuing to sort old ones. *sigh* But what a problem to have, eh? ++ Love you, too Linda, and yes, we're both well. :D
Thanks, Em!! The mods are really pulling out some oldies. Sorry I haven't been responding but I wanted to thank you so much for staying in touch. I just haven't felt up to the whole msg thing yet. Updated my profile and brought back the painted kitteh avatar but the rest will come in time. I am SO FAR BEHIND! Love you, my friend. Hope you and Mark are well!!
Ohai Mama! How u ben? I'm only now getting back into the swing of things here (and elsewhere) after a crazy weeks' long ride with my friend Lynda. She developed increasingly painful sciatica, which she had before, but this time became absolutely debilitating right down to including screaming in pain. After SIX trips to the ER, they finally admitted her. Without her having insurance they just kept throwing pain pills at her, something that doesn't help when you have an actual, physical situation, ya know? Even then it wasn't till 5 days later that they did surgery, after an epidural injection did very little to ease her situation. She'd had one 2 years ago which helped enough that she really didn't have any problems until earlier this year. This time it took removing the bulging portion of a disc. The doc told her afterward that they usually just open the disc snip off the bulging part and that's it, but with her they opened the disc and stuff just coming out and coming out and coming out... She had the clown car of spinal discs, aifinkso! The relief was immediate and almost complete (there was surgical pain, of course). Apparently someone ***finally*** realized she wasn't going to go away and figured they'd better sign her up for charity coverage. Her surgery was on 7/3 and she went home on 7/6. I went to spend a couple nights with her on a sofa "bed" that may make me the next candidate for back problems. Ugh! She'd been home only 24 hours when her temp agency called to say that the company who'd agreed to hire her for 6 months - and then agreed to wait a bit since she was supposed to start the day after she was finally admitted - wanted her to start the *next day* or they'd give the job to someone else. ARGH! Well, bless her heart, she did it! She's now an "imaging specialist" or some such for the main branch of a credit union. She'd been looking for full time work for well over a year. If the dopey money grubbers at the hospital had just dealt with her issue at the beginning, around 3 weeks before they finally got around to it, she would have been healed up and strong instead of having to be still in some pain and exhausted when she started. But hey - She.Has.A.Job! And a brand new, um, professionally reconditioned back!!! And best of all, she sounds and acts like herself again! :D So, that's why I've been scarce of late. I see you've had a couple FPs in the interim - Congratsez!! Hope you're doing well and enjoying your summer. :)
Heya, Linder! What are you up to? I've got a couple of worries on my mind, but I don't want to jinx them into being worse by talking about them. I spent more time here today than I have in ages trying to get my mind off them. It's worked pretty good so far. This weekend there's an actual sci-fi con here! Mark and I are going to check it out on Saturday. It'll be nice to have something different to do indoors as it's supposed to be around 100' both days and most of next week. (O_o) I'd love to hear from you when you have the chance. Oh, and thanks for the fave. :D
Hiya Sweets! I see you haven't heard anything yet about Greencliff. Can you drop me a line when you do, please? I've sent some "spirit friends" to camp out at his bedside. I'm way better at asking and sending than receiving comments from them, but I'll ask Mark when he gets home tonight. He's extremely able in both departments.
Hi again. I just scrolled through Greencliff's discussion threads and I can't find a thing about what sort of surgery he's having. Do you have any idea? (It helps in the energy work/prayers but isn't 100% necessary.)
Hiya Mama. Got your message about Greencliff. I went through your friends list, his friends list, and my friends list. The only two he and I have in common that you and I don't have in common are DJAussie and tookat. I'll send them the URL for your Hulkspeare LOL (where *did* you find that picture?!). Was there anything more you wanted me to do?
Ohai Mama! U still heer? I seed u faved stuff. I gots sum noo LOLs frum teh... ahem... excuse me... from the past week or so. (Just got finished chatting with SovaPlum. She's from New Zealand, you know, and I always end up with her accent by the time we're through.) How was your weekend? It was hot and sunny here, 90' give or take. Other than mowing the lawn and hosing out the AC units we didn't do much. We played D&D on the computer and watched the < gasp! > second to last episode of this season's Game of Thrones. I can't believe there's only ONE episode left!!! Nooooo.. =:O ++ I meant to tell you awhile ago (in case I didn't) that your granddaughter is a total sweetheart!!! You are so blessed to have her in your life. :D
Fang-Q frum boaf ub us! ++ That sounds really yummy. But... there you are in the heart of rainbow trout country and you have... halibut? LOL. What a nice neighbor you have! We're going out for dinner in a little while (probably Lone Star steak house) and then to see the latest Avengers movie, the late showing. Mark works 2nd shift so it's not really late for us. TTYL
You're sooo welcome, Sweetie! It's so nice to know you had a laugh. :) And your PS made my day! (((HUGS))) ++ Maybe if we spell it out HeadCheez Land it makes more sense, like, you know, they HeadCheez between their ears sometimes? Hehehehe... Have a nice weekend! Tomorrow's my 17th wedding anniversary!!
OMG...the birthday card was hystericlol!!! Definitely worth waiting for! And thanks for the gratz, too!! LOL! That's the second time it's been on the main page!! Don't know what's up in HeadCheezLand but, hey, I love it!! PS...You're the best!!
About not burning down this summer? We're about to the point where gasoline, napalm, and even thermite couldn't burn us down. In other words... it's been pouring for days. At least we're not as bad off as OK and TX. Those pour souls are having their *houses* swept away! Say, when you're having a blue day, here's a little something that will hopefully at least make you smile for a moment or two... http://cheezburger.com/8499794944 (Hug)
Thanks, dear!! A moldy oldy!! Glad you like the 'sucky' lol!! I thought of Blazing Saddles when I saw it and knew it had to be a hostage lol. Sry I haven't chatted much. I can only stay on for a bit at a time. We've had lots of rain here, too! Maybe we won't burn down this summer after all!! Hope you both are doing well. I'm getting there. Still have blue days, but not as many! Love you, my friend!
Hey Linder... How are you? I've seen you here a few times lately, but we haven't chatted. I'm really glad to see you here, even if it's only occasionally. It's so important after losing a loved one to stay involved with things that are comforting and, hopefully, good for a chuckle. I miss talking to you... PS - We've actually been getting a ton of rain! How about you?
