I have no words. so so much thoughts of you, I did not know Til now. I was missing you...you do what you need to, we, your friends here and there, always listen. You do not have to reply. Now, after I've said I had no words, love from me Plaidc, (jan) &co.
Yay basement skirl! I was lucky enuf to see one of these genetic gems, I think they are the 2nd rarest, 1st being a white with normal colored skin( not albino) I am 99% in other words I don't know! I was VERY lucky to see a black bobcat! You could still see his spots, like black leopard or jaguar. In de wild, too! Agin, happy skirl day ta you! Plaidc
It must be infuriating to raise and care for animals and lose them in such an awful way. I know how nature works but there are parts of it I really don't like. Thanks for taking the time to tell me about your feathered family. I wish I could send you magic to keep them safe.
Yes the r'coons an dogs have killed all ( 3 batches 3 yrs ) I only get a few chicks and raise indoors until they've fledged ( starting set of real feathers ) and then to outdoor hen house then adjoining pen. I let them out to scratch around, they go home at night. That's when they get busted in on. It's a good pen, but dang! I think once or twice it was a lil weasel. You would think I'd give up . Now my last 2 can fly, and dog and Turk guard each other! But I can't find eggs, cuz they are afraid to return to their pen since poor rooster was killed defending them. I've put a few bullets in the ground in the middle of the night when dog's having a fit to scare "varmits" away. ( I live way out of town) Well how didja like m hillbillie farm chic story!? :)
O didn't know turkeys were friendly, but I do remember someone telling me that chickens roost in trees at night. That must look really odd. I hope the raccoons didn't kill any of your feathered friends.
The turkey akshuly is pet-a- ble, gotta shove out of the way times. Different place different time. I do have 2 liddle Banty chikins 1 Turk. Chikins friendly, but you can only catch at night, if you can reach that high, fly good, but can't see in the dark. They roost in the trees. Just now getting them back clos to their house since the r'coon robbery.
