I added Criminal Minds to my Netflix cue. I've got a bunch of stuff in there so it will be a while but I'll get there. Arguing over ownership of the ball is a fetch fail! I like to think I run a benevolent dictatorship. I want to see Becky do all the things she enjoys but there are some rules we need to play by in order to give her that freedom. When I say drop it...ya better drop it. We've made large progress towards that and her world has gotten much bigger as a result. That's quite a collection of critters you have hanging out there. I love the videos one sees of typical enemies that throw out the rules and just get along. It would be so much nicer to see all of them playing together and everyone getting to go home with the same body parts they start out with. Of course, there's that whole food chain, instincts and keeping the world running that gets in the way of that. I hope the video helped you relax before bed.

!) I agree not to apologize to you unless I've been really bad; 2) Never heard any such gossip about you being a babbler, but should I hear such a thing I will tell whomever says it, that you were coached by me using my special babbling technique; 3) I TOTALLY agree that cats are magnificent; and 4) you are pretty damn magnificent yourself.

Nearly perfect...and very good this afternoon. We were out for a game of fetch in the back yard and she calmly retrieved my throws and was rather forthcoming when it came to releasing the ball when she got back. We often argue a bit about whose ball it is so giving it up readily was a real treat. Chipmunks and birds would provide a wonderful afternoon of entertainment for Miss Millie. I hope you get to enjoy that reading. I find it makes for a very pleasant distraction while Becky gets to play. the video uploaded so you can take an eight minute vacation to the left coast. http://cheezburger.com/42450177 go full screen NCIS is still on, thankfully. I love that show. Gibbs is such a great character. Did you enjoy Criminal Minds? That's not one I've watched...am I missing out?

Thanks, Venus love. Yeah - I didn't quite get what the situation was with Guthrie. I just feel s bad for NK :( As far as Jer is concerned we've dodged a bullet for sure, but we know that his going is inevitable. Dr. James (his vet) and I talk almost every day. She thinks he'll have another seizure in the next few months and that it may be the one that takes him - like a stroke. But she reassured me that he won't feel any pain and with any luck it'll happen when he's sleeping. Technically, he was supposed to have died about a year ago since he has CA of the brain stem, but then he's proved them wrong so many times. I'm just so glad we didn't put him through chemo and radiation because it was only recommended to "slow the course of the disease" not to cure it. I think it would have been incredibly cruel to put Jerry through that at his age. Btw, we usually celebrate his birthday on 11/14 since we don't know exactly when he was born. We just know that he and his litter-mate, FizzGig were between 3 and 4 weeks when we rescued them and we only guessed that becausr their eyes had just opened. I wish I had some photos of Fizz - he was a great cat, too.He died of urinary tract failure when he was 9 but he and Jerry were so close. I'm babbling sorry. Just so tired, Hugs!

Thanks. That one was getting plenty of love on the hot dog FP so I had hopes it might transition to the big stage. Crunch, crunch is no fun and pretty disgusting. Becky would indulge no matter what levels her vitamins were at. blech! More often than not instigators annoy me as I'm pretty much a go along to get along kinda guy and it's served me well. Still, I recognize that sometimes the instigators are damned entertaining. Did you and Millie have fun in the great outdoors today? I'll bet just catching the fresh scents on the breeze is a lot of fun for her. I made another run to the coast this morning. The conditions weren't spectacular out at Point Lobos but it was still fun. I shot mostly video of the surf. Since it was already high tide it wasn't as dramatic as it usually is and it's really spectacular on a clear day. Still, it made for a peaceful morning. I'm uploading video to youtube now and will post it for those that might want to watch it. It's not exciting but it is peaceful. It's going to take a long time to upload, though. I guess I'll watch the NCIS episode I recorded last night.

Thanks for the congrats. It's always a treat to get an FP and a double is really special. I was not being sarcastic about your mom being pleased with the shorthand and typing as those seemed to be more likely to be acceptable to her rather than college aspirations. I think parents spend so much time teaching, training and raising their kids that it's an interesting transition when the kids are accomplished and can actually teach the parents a thing or two. The transition to reliance on the kids is a whole different thing entirely that some embrace and some resist with all their might. It's really too bad your mom didn't appreciate your skills earlier but you did get to spend some much better time together there towards the end. Sadly it was accompanied by her very poor health. I chuckled at your last line about being a participator and sometimes an instigator. Participators make the world work...instigators often make the world fun.

Yeah, I'll bet your mom was thrilled with the typing and the shorthand. Did that perception of the world ever change in her later years? Your description of hubby one's musical taste reminds me of the great line in Blues Brothers. They asked the bar owner what kind of music they usually had there her reply was: "We have both kinds..we have country AND western." You could do worse than Cash and the Marine Corp Hymn though. Dancing is not a strong suit for most guys. It's kinda odd when you think about it. Gals seem to value a man that can dance and yet guys make so little effort. I'm as bad as any of them when it comes to dancing. Ya gotta love the popularity of high school football. It was the centerpiece of our Friday nights for many many years. Good on you for being so involved with the school.

Thank you, sweet friend. On bad days, I sometimes feel that I have nothing left to give, but then I always find that I do indeed have a little something left over. Nickname me toothpaste, because just when you think it's empty, you roll up the tube and give it a little squeeze and voila, you're back in business. *giggle* Thanks for the hug and the kind words. Lubs & hugs to you, as well!

Sorry, I didn't mean to cause a jeepers reaction with my kid comment...but I was a kid...I was old enough to have had my Rs mastered for a while, though. I got exposed to algebra in 6th or 7th grade but I struggled with it for a while. I didn't get good at it for quite some time. I never did take typing in school. I bought a software program at one time that helped so I type reasonably well but not error free. I have to go back and correct more than I'd like. Did you do a great deal of dancing? I don't watch the show but I can see the appeal of watching people you know compete in something that isn't their specialty.
