Sounds like you have a fun time planned too! I'm having a garage sale on Friday and Saturday, but on Sunday we are taking Hubby's 85 year old Mother, and his brother out to eat. My parents are gone, and so is Hubby's Dad, but we'll have a good time regardless. Ya just gotta keep moving on, right? Hugs, Mary Jo
Wow, birthday party kittens!! Thank you so much!! I was in Chicago yesterday for a play, so sorry for not responding till now. Had a great day! I see your birthday is in a few days as well. Just in case it slips my mind, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you too!!! Anything special planned? Hope yours was as good as mine! Hugs, Mary Jo
Congrats on the cute front page! That is me too, in the need of readers!! (Sometimes I put them on in my bathroom and think, "Oh my gosh, it needs cleaning in here!!) LOL!! So happy you made front page!
Wow, what an eye opener you gave me!! I HAVE heard about blindness with Diabetes, and it seems to me there is a problem relating to feet? But the other symptoms you gave me... I thought things like that happened if your insulin isn't regulated. I didn't realize there are incidents where it can't be regulated! I have one client who overfeeds her cat. I have tried hard to express to her that overweight cats are prone to Diabetes. But she tells me her cat pesters her and she has to give her more. This cat will eat an entire can of Fancy Feast in one sitting. And she gets two cans per day. I have a hard time with mine too... I have one that is slightly overweight, but really doesn't eat much, and prefers crunchy food. My other cat will eat and eat the wet food, doesn't care much for dry, and never gain! And yes, I just noticed your post about Pussums. I guess in Millie's case the 'misery loves company' slogan applies. It's nice that she and her sister have each other at a time like this. I feel so bad for both of them!! Did you send her my e-mail address? Sure would appreciate it!! Hugs, Mary Jo
Thank you for the info. I have a number of cats I care for that I have to give insulin shots too. They seem to do okay if the insulin is regulated. Guess it just depends on the cat, the age of the cat, and how long they've had diabetes. I have never heard of a human dying of diabetes. But I guess it's possible. I know Millie is good about taking in cats, and caring for cats. Plus I know about her Starling. So please feel free to give her my e-mail address, and tell her if she wants to talk, I am here for her. I won't mention what I first thought to her. In fact, I would appreciate it if you could delete that from your messages from me. I know she is a good kitty Mom, and she loves each and every one. I just never knew if her cats were inside/outside, or just inside. Sounds like they are all inside. What a shock though, huh? Thanks for explaining.
Oh I am so glad you clarified that for me. I didn't realize Pussums was her sister's cat, and that she lived at a different location. Even so, a diabetic cat shouldn't have problems like that if they are given the proper insulin doses. Maybe that just needs to be regulated. Goodness, they sure are having their share of problems! You kind of expect it with that many cats, but the recent one.... yes, how devastating!! I hope she will be able to find out the cause. I feel so bad for her!!
You know, if she has another cat that is sick, I am wondering if they aren't getting into something. Maybe anti-freeze? They say it will attract a cat, but of course it's poisonous to them. You might mention this to her.... maybe she isn't aware that a cat might have gotten into something. I feel so bad for her!!
Hi, I re-read what you wrote. Apparently you do have her e-mail. Please copy and paste this for her. Thank you. / My Dear sweet Millie, I just heard the news. What a shock. I have tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat thinking of what you are going through now. I am so very sorry for your tragic loss. Wish you lived near me so I could give you a hug in person, but since I can't, hope you can feel the love coming from my heart. We will miss you on the site, but understand your pain. Write when you can. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Love, Mary Jo... MJKittyMom
Oh my gosh, what a shock! You don't have to relay anything. I'll just send a message myself. Or, if you have her e-mail, please tell her my heart is aching for her loss. Thank you so much for letting me know. Big hugs to you!!
Wow, thanks for all the compliments!! You are SO sweet! I didn't realize the baby pic's were supposed to be a Halloween theme. Oh well. That picture exchange you had sounds like fun. Did you ever see the movie '9 Months'? I love the ending where they show Robin Williams, Hugh Grant, and the main cast with baby photos. That's a good movie. Glad you are enjoying my LOL's too. I've noticed you favoring them a lot. Sure appreciate it!! Hope all is well with you. We have my Mother-in-law in a nursing home temporarily now. She is 85, and just had a total hip replacement. She's doing.... fair. Take care!
Hi Deb, that video wasn't mine, I just uploaded it here. Isn't it precious? Not sure about the other. Were you referring to luvmy8cats? I don't remember what that was all about, sorry. Hope all is well with you!!
