"Rescue Stories" should go to 1TeamKSO...and are ongoing...At first I had thought of them as a Kamp Kuppykakes "event" which was kind of short-sighted ...they so inspire all of us and we do indeed rescue not only our fur babies but each other as well...
Thanks so much Kat. When your Guthrie passed, it hit me hard how bad it would be without any kitteh at all. For 40 years, if I ever lost a pet, there was always someone has who I could pet & hold & squeeze & cry with. None can "replace" another, but they sure help. Doesn't mean I love Millie any less, but hopefully they can be friends. Still so glad you have Wallaby--such a fine guy! Lubs--Deb
That's one of the sweetness characteristics I've noticed in you--that the others were ok. They are doing a LIVE announcement right now & posting photos of 2 suspects in the Boston disaster. Good pics, so I'd figure someone would recognize them & hopefully turn them in. I don't, nor will ever, understand things like this--totally unimaginable! Good Wallaby trying to keep you calm--I'm sure flinging the toy off the desk was another of his ploys to keep your mind off of the bad stuff! Luv&HugsBack~Deb
thrilled to bits to have gotten landline phone service back yesterday...i'm frankly relieved that your son and my cousin & aunt were all ok...at the moment...i'm really upset about events in Boston....Wallaby's tryin to keep me calm by sleeping right next to me ....gotta go find the toy he just flung off the desk...luv & hugs kat
If we're not 'pussovers' then we're not doing a good job with our kids! Millie is such a stinker! Gives no licks, bonks, or cuddles, but wants, wants, wants from me. I can't believe that there is still 'recovery' needed after ALL these months. 'Course, I'm sure you would consider yourself lucky in comparison to Staten Is., Queens, NJ, etc. But just half-way up the island, the power didn't even flicker. I'm thankful for that for my son, but I have guilty feelings for you having had such a hard time. I'm sure everyone in your bldg. dearly loves 'Fred'! Hugs & Blessings to You! Deb
Wallaby is thrilled to have you on his defense team...he figured out that I was going to be a real "pussover" while were meeting at the shelter...I have a new definition of "normal"...My land line phone is just being reactivated tomorrow...we've actually named the temporary portable boiler hooked up to our building...we call it "Fred" Warmest wishes, Kat
Why thank you, my dear! I hope it will turn out to be that! Good to hear from you & hope things have been going well with you & Wallaby! And just as I typed that I see to the side that Daisy says you lost your favorite cousin! I am SO terribly sorry & pray that God will give you comfort & peace! Hugs! Deb
OMGoodness--was it that your family just had the 'old manual typewriter' at home or as in MY case, 'WE' learned to type on the 'fairly up-to-date' Royal Manual typewriters. However, there were electric typewriters used ONLY by those taking 2nd yr. typing. That is SO true what you say, though. Jeff (there in NYC) was a smartie-pants & could do anything. Made a Parthenon that was FABULOUS while still in elementary school, & not only didn't ask for help, but would have pitched a fit if anyone offered. BUT he did love to try to help his younger (& less intelligent, he thought, brother) with his homework. I'd be in the kitchen & I'd hear Keith scream "MOMMA--Tell Jeff to quit helping me with MY homework!". Never a dull moment back then!
Not to worry....I was figuring on somebody (could be me) doing an LOL announcin the "winnaz & their gormet meal"....the activity is one of those designed to build team spirit ...so some LOLs with skolars disagreeing on where to look or other team issues could also be worked in....also the thing I luv MOZTEZT here iz the fact that my really bad spelling works FOR me....
bout havin to be "right on their butts DOING THE WORK"...reminds me of a business team lunch a while back...several of the working moms started comparing notes about projects (science & other subjects) that they had "helped" their kids out with....my own boss probably wenta tad too far when she announced "and I got an A+" My parents just didn't do that...and at the time it ticked me off because my classmates parents would type up their reports etc...Once my dad caved in and did type a report for me because I was making too much noise on our old manual typewriter too late at night....but I really don't resent their lack of "doing it for me" now because as a corporate trainer I know that you only really learn to something by DOING IT YOURSELF.....
UUUUUUUhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!! No! I was trying my best to explain what I thought you meant we'd have to be doing. A GREAT idea? You came up with the original--I'm just trying to figure out if it was "just" an Lol or if there would be other Lols with these items. Remember I'm not that 'smart' with puters & I don't know how the pics could be made without some kind of major majic--see you got me so upset, I can't spell magic! LOL! LUV U, too--EVEN if you do put me to work!
You inspired that avatar change. when you first saw that photo...I really wanted to use Wallaby's picture but didn't want to remove Guthrie's ....my brain seems to function best when I'm really tired...(probably no emotional static gets through)...it took a while to figure out how to get both photos on. I saved them both on a PowerPoint slide in the position I wanted them, cropped the rest of the slide off, and had to make several tries before getting it the size that I wanted....I'm using Microsoft XP and needed to save in an older version of PowerPoint ('95-97) in ordefr to have that "jpeg" option that ICHC will accept.
