I read Unbroken last year...loved it. I expect you're already aware that Zamperini died in the last couple weeks. What an inspiration he was. I'm glad the weather window is looking so good for you. I hope neither of us get a repeat of last winter. Mine was way too dry but they're predicting an El Nino this winter which should help greatly with our drought. It's been a good day. We had a wonderful goggie encounter that I detailed for Paws earlier if you want to ED. What a great dog Tessa is.
I'm not a fan of hot and humid so I feel for you. I wouldn't let the library staff slow me down from getting what I want. They've never shown any inclination to do so anyway. I did see in the credits today that Longmire was based on a series of books. I'll have to check those out at some point too. I've been on a biography kick lately and don't expect that will end right away. I've got too many lives that are interesting me right now. What kinds of things do you usually read?
I love the pic you chose for James Garner. He was one of my favorite actors...truly one in a million. Married to the same woman for over 60 years! I couldn't pick a favorite movie of his, I loved them all but I know I'm getting really old cause The Great Escape is one of them and out of all the many great characters in that movie, there are now only 4 left alive. That sucks. Have a great evening, my friend.
Oh my goodness, had SO much fun. My "driver" bailed on me at the last moment so I had to do it myself, but it was a beautiful morning and we didn't run into much construction. I was wide awake and not a lick of headache. It was lots of fun learning the new technique and I'll have a pretty necklace when I finally get it done. I even got the huge treat of being able to pick some things out as two friends had gotten together and got me a birthday gift card from the shop. Drove my friend home and weeded her garden Then we played and planned the rest of her piece. I finally left, ran to a couple of stores and finally on to home. Did some sleuthing on the puter about the paypal acct. for James and when no dinner was forthcoming, just ate a pile of watermelon (I"ll pay for that) and am ready to drop. A truly nice, but exhausting day. LOL. Oh, I'm so glad you got to attend the shower and had fun. That's lovely. Hugsies, Deb
That does indeed sound like fall. It's been in the upper 90s this week, and will get into the low 100s the next few days along with monsoon season humidity. My AC picked the worst possible time to go out, so it'll be a rough several days until they can install refrigerated air.
Those are some good pictures of AOCH. You're right that he is a great guy. I live in El Paso, which is about as far west in Texas as you can go. How is the weather in Tennessee? Have a great evening and Caturday :) *hugs* Kelly
